Conversation this morning:
Alex: Is there school today?
Me: Yes, why? (realizing that they don't have school Thursday and Friday due to conferences)
Alex: Because it's flooding.*
*remember we had a flood in our town? Every time it rains, Alex thinks they should stay home because it will flood.
Me: No, it's just raining and you still have school.
The kids think school will be cancelled if it's snowing, it's a little
cold outside or it's raining. This started with all of the days off
that they had in January, due to the unusually cold temperatures. Although, for January, those were just normal temperatures for around here.
Alex: Are you sure?
Me: Yes, I'm sure.
