Walking the paths - Backyard Edition - One more!

I had to include this picture with my Backyard pictures.  The evergreens are so close to the house.  It looks like they are hugging/hiding the house.
The house is up for sale!   You can be the owner of this beauty!
I would probably trim the bushes just a little.

Pretty as a Princess

Bella was asked to stand up in a wedding.  Thanks to my cousin, Bella got to feel like a princess for a couple of days.
First mani (professional, that is)

ahh, I can get used to this life

a mini pedi
she didn't get the soak, just the polish
she still loved it

purple, just like the dress
that white glob is a flower -  didn't photograph well

relaxed with pretty nails

Then, off to get our hair done

love those curls
looks a little like me when I was little (when I had my hair curled)
almost done

finished with a flower

This was my children's first opportunity to experience a big fat Greek wedding.  Of course, RT was in one, so there were no surprises there.

she did a great job!

What a fun day!

A Sit Upon

A sit upon on which you will sit upon.
Bella is going to a Daisy camp and I received a long list of things that she needs for the week.  Well, it isn't really that long.  It seems long to me, tho.
One of the items needed is a sit upon.  Something that Bella can sit on, since this is an outdoor camp and the grass is dry and scratchy right now.  Or, if it rains, something we haven't had much of in the last two months, to keep her shorts dry.
Bella keeps asking, "What is a sit upon?"   I think she likes saying "sit upon."  It is fun to say.  Try it.
I googled sit upon and this is the site that I am getting my directions on how to make a sit upon, just incase you want one, too.  Bella saw the picture of the finished "sit upon" and still didn't get it.  I think once I make this for her and show her how it is used, she will like it.  Especially during camp when the grass isn't scratching her legs.

What do you need?
Old Pillow (we have PLENTY of those)
plastic tablecloth or Kitchen cabinet liner
hole punch (the trusty ol' crop-o-dile)
yarn
ribbon/cloth (for straps) (optional)
tape
thread

I'll make these quick directions.  Measure out and cut your liner/tablecloth.  Make sure that half of your pillow will fit inside.

That's what the pillow looks like inside.  I used RT's pillow.  Hey, he has 3!

punch holes 1" apart

Lined up and looking good

start threading the yarn through the holes

straps
I taped them down first, then sewed them to the liner

don't forget to add your pillow!

and you're done!

perfect for camp, sports events

or sitting on the floor of the office :)

Voice Control

RT and I got new phones.  We did not get the same phone this time.  These new phones have a lot of fun features.
RT has been using his voice control a lot.  He uses it to make lists or find things on his phone.
He started making a list for the store.
Milk.
Orange Juice.
What a day vitamins.
That was supposed to be One a day vitamins.  The voice control isn't always accurate.  I think it hears what it wants to hear.
You can see RT walking around the house, talking to his phone.  If I tell him something that he should remember, he tells his phone, it makes a note or reminder for him.  If we are talking and he wants to look something up, again, he talks into his phone.
The other day he was running some errands and asked if I needed anything.  I said, can you get me a new mouse?  The mouse on my computer doesn't work.  I can move the cursor, but, can't click on anything.
RT talks into his phone.
"Get Fontaine a mouse."
And, what does the phone hear?
"Get the pain a mouse."
I think he's talking too much his phone.

Favorite Toy

This little toy spinner (top?) looks like a mushroom.  It has been in Bella's room for a long time.  It originally belonged to Alex.
Today, Bella brought the toy spinner out and started playing with it in the family room.  Alex, who happened to be in the family room, told her that it was his and to "give it back."
Apparently it's his favorite toy.
He hasn't touched it or needed it or missed it in a year, but it's his and he wants to play with it right now!
I was trying to get a picture of them fighting over it, but Alex wouldn't have it.
I'm sure this happens to everyone.  I find it quite amusing when it does happen.
I secretly shot this picture so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Bella's Fishy Project

Yesterday, I made a scale-y card.  It was supposed to be a project that Bella could help me do.
Bella had other plans.
I sketched out a fish for Bella to use it as a template.
kissing fish

Bella cut out 3 fish (dk blue, lt blue and purple).  Chose one of the colors to be the first fish, the others to be a little shadow.

Match them up at the mouth and fan them out and glue them together.
We drew a little collar and then used the circle punch for multi colored circles for scales.  Glue it all down and you have your rainbow fish!

Thank you, Bella, for sharing your rainbow fish project!

Thank you Card

Bella had to send a Thank You card and I thought how fun it would be to make one ourselves.  I got this idea from here.  I thought this would be cool artwork on the wall, but, how cool would it be on a card?
We shall find out.
I cut a long rectangular shape for the backing.  Why?  Because I wanted this to fit in a regular business sized envelope.  Maybe I should figure out how to make envelopes.  That could be a future post.
I used a 1" circle punch and a variety of paper colors.

I didn't get crazy on this card.  I did a pattern (as Bella would remind me).

When gluing the circles down, it is ok to go past the card. You will have a chance to cut them off at the end of the project.

A very simple project

and look how perfectly it fits into that envelope?
Love it!
I should probably tell you that I made the card. Bella saw that we were going to make this and instead did her own special project that I will share with you tomorrow.
